SOCCER HERE WE COME!

Mount Vernon has a soccer league that starts in July and goes for about a month for 3-5 year olds called the Mighty Midgets!  We have decided to put Xavier on a team with other friends of ours!  I think Steve is going to co-coach the team with Aaron Stacey since his daughter Jensen will also be on the team!  It should be fun!  In order to prepare we of course had to buy Xavier a soccer ball!  I think it was the one sports ball he didn't have!  He LOVES soccer, much to his dads dismay!  I think he is pretty good too!  I mean how good can a 2.5 year old be at soccer, but he can make contact with the ball at least!  So we will see how it goes!

MY BABES

I rarely get to take pictures with the kids...so I just have to take my own!

PLAY DATE!

I was very ambitious today and I invited over a bunch of mommy friends and their babes for a play date!  I love being on maternity leave and I wish I didn't have to go back to work so that I could have play dates all the time!  All of the mommy's who came over are such wonderful people and I had such a great time with everyone!  My son was kind of a bear, but it was really the first time he had to share all of his toys with some kids he wasn't use to and I don't think he liked it too much!  Hopefully he will get use to it!  It was a perfect sunny day for hanging outside, playing and chatting!  Thank you everyone who came over!!  Oh and sorry for the lack of pictures!  I was busy chasing down my out of control tractor driving son while carrying Harper in the Baby Bjorn!

HARPER NEEDS SOME LOVE

Often times I don't put many pictures of Harper on the blog because, well, she hasn't done much...til now!!  She has finally started to smile and no it's not just gas!!  On Sunday she really smiled for the first time!!  She's not the best sleeper at night, but she does like to sleep in her swing.  Last night we put her in her swing in the middle of the night so we could get about 3 hours of good sleep!  She is not too fond of tummy time...she falls asleep when I put her on her tummy and she likes to be upright at all times!  She has lost most of her hair in the front of her head just like Xavier did!  She likes to rub her head on people, so I think that has something to do with it too!  She is kind of going through the "ugly" baby stage where their hair falls out and they get baby acne, but I still think she is cute because I'm the mom!

TY & XAVIER = WATER FUN!

One of the days when it was 90 degrees  last week, Ty, Tatum and Kelsey came over for a little water time!!  The plan was to walk to Pat's baseball game at Sherman Anderson field, but it was too hot!!  The boys had fun on the slip n slide and in the pool, while the girls lounged in the shade!

FUN IN THE SUN

Really...what is better on a hot and sunny 90 degree day than a SLIP N SLIDE?  I use to love my slip n slide when I was little, except for the occasional grass burn that you would get because you missed the slide!!  I was so excited for Xavier to try his out, but afraid he wouldn't like it!  HE LOVED IT!!  He never really got the concept of running and diving on your tummy to go down the slide, but he made his own way of doing it!  He would run down the slide and then of course slip at the end into the pool of water.  Whatever works!  Steve even decided to take a running slide on it!!  It was fun had by all!

Steve showing Xavier how its done!  Check out the air he got!
Don't be fooled by this picture...he never really went down on his tummy!

Finally we got him to play in the sprinkler with Auntie Megan!

MARINERS GAME

Steve and I have 4 "season tickets" for the Mariners.  We are in a share group with some firefighters from his work and Monday was our game!  I love going during the week because it's not too crowded!  It was so nice out on Monday at the game!  We never sit in our seats because it's just too crowded with 4 of us and the stroller, so we have our favorite alternate section that we sit in!  Even the ushers are super nice and always give Xavier baseball cards!  Xavier still won't have his picture taken with the Moose although he claims he isn't scared of him, we think he is!!  A Mariners game for the Neyens 4 would not be complete without a stop at the candy shop in Safeco Field!  We usually get swedish fish, yogurt or chocolate covered raisins, chocolate covered nuts and gummi worms!  This time we went a little early and ate dinner across the alley at Pyramid Ale House and then went to the game!  Even though they lost it was still fun as always!

I know...my boobs look out of control!  They kind of are right now!
Xavier and Harper are giving me the, "come on mom, take the picture" faces!
Our first family photo and of course Xavier is chewing away on his candy!
